Postman Peter
Peter Connolly (wearing a cap in the picture) delivered his last letter to our school last Thursday after 33 years service! We wish him well in his new position and we thank him for such a splendid service over the years. Best of luck to his replacement Morris Walsh. We look forward to meeting him…

Swimming classes
Swimming classes will shortly be commencing again. It’s very encouraging to see all the progress the pupils are making and the enjoyment they derive from being in the water, which is good for both body and mind.

Matt Cunningham celebrates 50 years in the music business
The pupils presented Matt Cunningham with specially designed and created clay pieces and cards to congratulate him on his 50 years in the music business and 30 years as a music teacher! What an achievement. Well done Matt.

Silverware Showcase
Last year was a very memorable one for our gaelic football and soccer teams here in Castlehackett NS. We have placed all of our winnings on display so as to rouse us as we commence defences of our titles in the days and weeks ahead! Best of luck to everybody involved!

Odd Shoe Odd Sock Success
We recently held our first Odd Shoe & Odd Sock day whereby students and teachers alike, were invited to wear odd shoes and/or odd socks in an effort to raise money for the Hand in Hand Children’s Cancer Charity (www.handinhand.ie) The day was a huge success and the children had great fun looking very silly…
